How We Create A New Living Space
This space presented us with some challenges. The land was sloped (30o) and may have been ideal for sled riding but turning it into a poolscape required some innovative engineering and design work.
As you can see, we had tree lines on two sides of the proposed site, and the customer wanted to do something that would create more privacy and eliminate the visual on the parking pad.
We took care of all the permits and paperwork necessary and finally had our plans approved, and on a cold January day we began the project.
After a lot of site engineering, the beginnings of our design are visible as we outline the swimming pool.
One of the bigger engineering challenges was the need for a wall at the lower end of the slope. Here you can see the beginning of that wall.
You can see the wall going up here. It would end up being some 12' above ground level, but give us a spectacular result.
Here you can see the outer pool walls being installed. This is a custom design so we make everything to order to meet the approved designs.
In addition to the pool we had recommended a structure that would house the pumping equipment, a cabana with kitchen facilities and a bathroom, and a storage room. We've dug out the space and footers have been installed, and it all begins to take shape.
This is just part of the piping system we install so that you literally have a maintenance-free pool.
We called this the grand staircase. This was a big challenge. Because the land sloped, we designed the pool area to be on two levels, and the grand staircase would be the connecting design element.
It's beginning to look a lot like a swimming pool. We had a July 1 deadline and our crews were moving efficiently to meet that date.
